GALLERY-BS has opened with conveying the soul of Asia as its main theme, on November 1, 2001, at one second past 11:01. The launch made use of this numerical omen as an expression of our wish for the spiritual culture of Asia to be transmitted in all directions all over the earth. An article published in an arts magazine at that time featured the headline, “On the Day that Eight Ones Aligned, the Asian Express Took Off. Once upon a time, the soul of the Renaissance ushered in a new era. Now, the soul of the Orient will change the world…” Sensing the boundaries of the western concept of values, art world is initiating a new search at a time when the West and the East are increasingly fusing in harmony. GALLERY-BS succeeded in garnering our first opportunity to make a presentation overseas, featuring Japanese, Korean, and Chinese artists as Asian artists. And now, we are proud to announce the relaunch on November 1, 2005, of this website, which has been redesigned in order to convey the exhibit info, event info, and updated artists’ info timely.
