1921 Born in Toyohama, Mitoyo Couty, Kagawa Prefecture 1939 Exhibited a self-portrait in the 9th Dokuritsu Bijutsu Kyokai Exhibition (thereafter participated in the 10th, 12th and 15th exhibitions). Entered the Oil Painting Department of the Tokyo Fine Arts School. Met Kinosuke Ebihara and transferred to the newly founded Art Department of Nihon University. Studied under Kinosuke Ebihara, Kenzo Okuda, Kan’uemon Asai, Toru Yanagi and Shuzo Takiguchi 1947-50 Participates in Dokuritsu (Independent) Art Association, Jiyu Art Association, Shunyo Association 1956 received second-place award in the 1st Shell Art Awards Exhibition 1957 Seashore received the first Yasui Award 1999 NHK-TV broadcast a program entitled “Color Recollections—Takashi Tanaka.” A book entitled Forty Years’ History of the Yasui Award published by the Sotaro Yasui Memorial Foundation 2005 One-man exhibition entitled “Light Nirvana” held at GALLERY-BS.
